SUMMARY:HOWE GELB feat STEVE SHELLEY (Sonic Youth)
DESCRIPTION:L’ultimo album dei Giant Sand (ribatezzati per l’occasione Giant Giant Sand grazie alla formazione composta da dodici elementi) è ‘Tucson’\, che ha avuto un grande successo riportando in auge la band e la figura di Howe Gelb\, che l’anno scorso ha pubblicato anche il suo ultimo lavoro solista ‘Dust Bowl’.\nHowe Gelb non ama stare fermo\, dopo l’album solista “Dust Bowl” e “Tucson” dei Giant Sand\, presenta “The Coincidentalist” (primo album ad uscire su New West Records) il nuovo lavoro che vede ospiti importanti come Will Oldham\, Andrew Bird\, M. Ward. \nL’alternative country rock (Usa)\, Howe Gelb è fondatore dei Giant Sand: la musica di Howe Gelb e’ parte integrante ed insieme magnifica descrizione del deserto di Tucson\, la citta’ dell’Arizona in cui vive. Ispiratore anche dei primi Calexico si è manifestato sotto diverse forme OP8\, Band of Blacky Ranchette e gli Arizona Amptante.
 Howe sta dividendo la sua carriera live tra i Giant Sand\, nella versione allargata a dodici elementi\, e le sue esibizioni soliste. \nRegistrato assieme a M. Ward e Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth)\, il disco è composto da 11 canzoni collegate tra loro come se fossero un racconto ma\, allo stesso tempo\, riescono ad essere indipendenti l’una dall’altra.
 Il disco contiene inoltre brani scritti in collaborazione con Bonnie Prince Billy e KT Tunstall.
